as Gabe would say... "IN POOL!!"

Some snapshots from this weeks swim therapy...

Fathers Day Camp-out ....( or Camp-in)

For the fathers day weekend Jeremy and Gabe decided to "camp-out" in the living room and have a guys slumber party adventure! They played with puppets, read stories, sang songs, and cracked up laughing until all hours of the night. It was a really great weekend!
Jeremy and Gabe on the air mattress in the living room.
They were up late playing and telling stories so they slept in a bit!
My fella's after they woke up from their slumber party adventure.

A new toy!

Jeremy and I love Netflix. We have been using them for a while. Along with DVD's they also offer a lot (over 10,000 titles) of "on demand" content. You can watch any of those titles immediately right on your computer. I LOVE THAT!! That is how I watch 90% of the TV shows I like anyway. I watch "How I met your Mother" at the shows CBS website. and the same goes for a lot of other shows I like. I just watch them on the computer when it's convenient for me. However, Jeremy doesn't like it- he doesn't want to watch T.V. or Movies on the Computer- he wants to watch them on our T.V. ( I get it, our T.V. is much bigger than our monitor and the couch much more comfortable than the computer chair, LOL)
Anyway, we have a new toy that fixes some of that problem!! The Netflix Player by Roku. If you already use Netflix. it's a no brainer- you just buy the player and that's it. No additional monthly fee. I love it, The box it tiny- it works both wired and wirelessly (which is how we hooked it up) and it automatically has your instant queue available on your T.V. (YAY!!) I've been using it all day and thought I would share. It's HD ready as soon as Netflix starts streaming in HD, but so far ABC.com is the only site I've seen that's streaming in HD, you can watch episodes of LOST in HD.
It's so little and cute! Check it out!! It's smaller than a DVD case!! (it's the little black box to the right of the DVD case)

little things, like a first sucessful raspberry...

Gabe has been trying to figure out how his Daddy and I blow raspberries for a little while now. He used to just like it and laugh, but lately he is very interested in the process and trying to varying degrees to do it- until recently it's really just him making a noise with his own tongue that he settles for but more recently he has started experimenting with putting his mouth on the neck. I wish I had video of the first couple times he tried this on Jeremy- LOL!! Between the licking and spitting it was hilarious, all the while Jeremy endures; ever so patiently the victim of Gabe's experimentation. Well this particular time Gabe actually figured it out! (after some more licking, spitting, and as you will see tickling Daddy)

Hope you enjoy this one as much as I did!!

45 1/2 pounds and 4 feet tall ! !

Gabe had his 6 month check up and growth check today with Dr. Flick and.............

He's doing GREAT!! He weighs 45 1/2 pounds and is 48 inches tall! Yay!!

(for those who have nothing to compare with, this is really good- it means Gabe is gaining weight which can be a problem for kids with CP, He's haning in there on the growth chart too which is awesome!!) Anyway, just thought we would share the size of our growing little man.

"Average" for a 7-8 year old is between 3ft 8- 3ft 9 inches and roughly 50-57lbs

So Gabe is actually a little bit tall for his age and is making headway in the weight category. Yay- Ironically he's the only one in our family who needs to GAIN weight- the rest of us all have some we would like to donate to the cause!! LOL!!

summer hair cut...

I know, I know!! He looked so cute before why did I have to go and cut off all his beautiful hair??? Because he's a BOY and it's SUMMER!!
Besides, I think he looks cute with short hair too!!

little things, like banana's...

Little things.... like finally making the transition from "nana" to actually saying Banana. This video makes me laugh mostly because it looks like I'm giving him a treat when he says it right! LOL, I was just really excited when "I want nana" came out "Want banana, Please!" So, I grabbed the camera and tried to get him to say it again, all you mom's out there know how easy that is (yeah, right.) But I at least got him to say Banana! Yay Gabe!

Evergreen Elementary Hawaiian Luau 2008

Some of you may know that Gabe was at a different school this year, and so instead of the "Skippy Days" they had at his old elementary, Evergreen had a "Hawaiian Luau" at the end of the year.
There were toys, games, prizes, candy, and popcorn- there were all kinds of fun things to do and explore.
Here's a couple snapshots Jeremy took:

project complete!!

Well, we've completed our $25 dresser project. It's a 1950's Harmony House wood dresser.
Let the sanding begin (sanded completely by hand)
in progress...
time to start staining (hubbies get the dirty work!)
now for the poly...
and finally.... the finished product!

a picture is worth 1000 words...

Just a quick snapshot I took while we were watching T.V. -
Those little moments are better than anything out there in my opinion- true happiness...his smile just makes my day!!

now a couple of our growing baby bunny...

I caught our little bunny friend first thing in the morning having a leafy snack...

bunny neighbor update...

I hope no one is sick of my bunny pictures, it's one of my little joys sneaking out with the camera and taking pic's of them, first here's some pictures of Momma- I was so bummed she looked so adorable and I was trying out some manual focus stuff but I didn't get the autofocus on in time to catch her when she decided to run away, I posted the last shot even though it's not in focus just because I love seeing them all stretched out like that... enjoy!!

my furniture find...Yay!!

Let me give you a little back story to explain why I am SO HAPPY about my TOTALLY AWESOME furniture find.
I have been looking for something to put by our front door pretty much since the day we moved in. I have tried end tables, book shelves, and tray tables... nothing makes me happy. What I have wanted is a kind of storage solution that had a top were we could put change, keys, charge phones, etc and the underneath to have shelves but I wanted it to have doors and drawers. I saw something at Walmart that was close, but it was black painted particle board (that doesn't excite me to say the least) and they wanted $90 for it~ after tax I'd be paying a hundred dollars for a relatively small storage "cabinet" that wasn't really the color I wanted. Anyway, so my mom gave us some money for our anniversary (oh yeah, it's coming up July 4th we'll have been married 3 wonderful years!) and I decided to use it to purchase something for by the front door so back to the drawing board I went- I almost bought the thing from Walmart- it even went on clearance for $75!! But by the time I decided they were all gone- and can I tell you I AM SO GLAD!!

I decided last weekend that we should hit some thrift stores- check out Goodwill and some of the others in the area to see what they have in the way of storage stuff- I just happened to walk over and look at this piece, thinking it would be way more than I would be willing to pay~ and it wasn't... this buffet and hutch as a matter of fact cost less than that stupid little particle board storage bin thing at Walmart!! (and it's solid wood!!) I'm so excited, not only does it do what I want it also gives me a place to display more things (I haven't decided what I want on it yet, I'm just trying a few things out for right now) but it also has drawers and doors for storage like I wanted. I have all our board games there were we can easily get to them- I'm so excited! I can't wait to finish organizing all the space inside it!!
Anyway, here it is!! and by the way... Thanks mom for the killer anniversary gift... WE LOVE IT!!

the many faces of our little guy

Jeremy and Gabe were having fun taking pictures, these are some of my favorites...

You can't even get the camera bag out now without Gabe saying "Cheese!" ~ Me! Me! Me!!
I love all his silly faces! He hams it up for the camera just like his mommy did when she was a kid. Watch out! Now he wants the camera too!

Feeling Squirrely!!

Jeremy snapped this pic while on a walk with Gabriel, I thought is was so cute- I just had to share...

Doing some work at North Wales Days...

A couple of weekends ago Jeremy set up a table for PNC at North Wales Days, here's a few photo's....
